The Malone University women's soccer team will play its final three home games of the season this week. The Pioneers will take on Walsh University on Tuesday, Alderson Broaddus University on Thursday and Davis & Elkins College on Saturday. All three games are scheduled to be played at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

The Pioneers are currently in 9th place in the conference standings. The top eight teams will make the postseason tournament. If Malone wins at least two out of their three contests this week, they will set themselves up for a good chance to make their third straight conference tournament. The Pioneers have shown all season that they are good enough to play with any team in the conference. Only one of their conference losses all season was decided by more than one goal.

The Pioneer women are coming into this week hungry after a pair of tough defeats last week to Cedarville University and Ohio Valley University, two teams that have each clinched a tournament berth. The Pioneers were close to handing Ohio Valley its first loss of the season. Ohio Valley did not get a lead in the game until there was just twenty minutes remaining in the contest. Malone led 1-0 on an early goal by Keeley Malley. Ohio Valley tied it up on a penalty kick. Malone got the lead back again because of an Own Goal by Ohio Valley just before halftime. Ohio Valley tied it up 2-2 just over a minute into the second half before Thaos Dos Santos scored the game-winning goal in the 69th minute. In the past two seasons, the Pioneers have needed to do something special at the end of the regular season to make the tournament, and in both seasons they have accomplished the task.

The Cavaliers started the season off red-hot, going 10-0 to start the season. Walsh is currently on a three-game losing streak, although the teams that they lost to are currently the top three seeds in the conference. Walsh lost to Ohio Dominican University and Ohio Valley 2-1 before getting shutout by Cedarville 2-0. Walsh has scored 33 goals this season, second only to Ohio Valley. On the defensive end, Walsh is allowing the least amount of goals of anyone in the conference (0.58 per game). They lead the conference with eight shutouts. Olivia Peters is fourth in the conference in goals (9) and first in the conference in assists (8).

Although the Battlers have just one conference win this season, they have not been mathematically eliminated from the conference tournament. The Battlers have two ties in the conference, one of which came in their first meeting with Malone earlier this season. The Battlers have scored eight goals on the season, three of which have been registered by Kennedy Rankin. Rachel Gaspar has scored two goals for Alderson Broaddus.

Davis & Elkins is still in search of its first win of the season. The Senators have two conference ties this year, which have came against Malone and Alderson Broaddus. Davis & Elkins has been shut out nine times this season. The Senators have scored four goals this year, each from a different player. Tina Wulin scored her only goal of the season against Malone in their first meeting to tie the game up 1-1.
