Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 to Cedarville

The Malone University women's soccer team fell to Cedarville University at home on Thursday by a score of 1-0. The Pioneers fall back below .500, moving their record to 4-5-3 (2-4-2) on the season.

Cedarville outshot Malone 16-6 in the contest, with eight shots on goal compared to two by the Pioneers.

Hannah Atkinson scored the lone goal of the contest in the 22nd minute of play. Atkinson's tally was scored off a rebounded shot by Stephanie Cradduck.

McKenzie Chappell recorded seven saves for the Pioneers, her fourth consecutive game with six or more saves.

This is the Pioneers' fifth consecutive game that was decided by a one goal deficit or ended in a tie.

The Pioneers will be back in action on Saturday when they take on Ohio Valley at the Hall of Fame Legacy Sports Complex.

The team will be holding a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness during the game, which begins at 11:00 am. The first 30 students with their ID's will receive a free gift. There will be a bake sale, halftime games, concession stands, gear and t-shirt sales ($10 breast cancer awareness t-shirts), and basket raffles. There will be a shuttle running from campus to legacy fields for students to have the opportunity to attend the game and fundraiser.
