Pioneers Fall in Four Sets to Ohio Dominican

For the second time in eight days, the Malone University volleyball team dropped a non-conference match with Ohio Dominican University, falling in four sets (27-25, 19-25, 16-25, 10-25) Friday evening at the University of Findlay.

The Pioneers staved off a pair of set-points to take the first set as they benefitted from 10 Panther attack errors. In the second set, Malone led by as many as four points early on and was tied at 17-17 before ODU rallied for eight of the final ten points. The Panthers carried the momentum into the next two sets to capture their third victory of the season.

Defensively, Lynsey Trusty collected a team-high 15 digs as Sydney Black checked in with 12 digs. Kool and Hannah Eliason each recorded three blocks in the loss.

All-conference hitters Tory Thompson and Jackie Oestreich led the Panthers with 16 kills apiece.
