Box Score For the second time this season, the Pioneers and Davis & Elkins played in a game that was ended a little early because of lightning. However, the outcome was different this time unfortunately for the Pioneers. The first time around the Pioneers were leading 3-0 when the game was called for lightning, but the game was replayed because the game had not reached the required 70 minutes of play.

In today's contest Davis & Elkins held a 2-0 lead when the game was called, and this time the game counted because the game had gotten well past the 70 minute mark.

Last year's NCAA Division II goal leader, Katrina Giantsopoulos, scored both goals for the Senators in Thursday's contest. The first came halfway through the first half and was unassisted. Her second came in the second half on a long pass from Amanda Wray. Tonight's two goals were Giantsopoulos' fifth and sixth goal on the season.

Giantsopoulos had several attempts in the game that were very similar to the second one that she scored, but Malone's goal keeper,
McKenzie Chappell had some brilliant saves to keep Giantsopoulos from reaching the back of the net earlier in the game.

The Pioneers had some beautiful moments with open scoring opportunities where they did everything right except for put the ball in the net. The Pioneers took 18 shots on the day, six of which were on goal.
