The Malone University Men's Soccer team lost 4-1 in Saturday afternoon's game against Kentucky Wesleyan. The loss brings the Pioneers' record to 1-4-1 (0-3-1) on the season.
Kaelin Hildreth put the Panthers on the board first off the pass from Matt Hickingbotham. Kurtis Roberts gave Kentucky Wesleyan the 2-0 lead at the half scoring a goal that hit off the post and bounced in the net.
Kentucky Wesleyan extended the lead to 3-0 in the second half on a goal by Brady Brythe.
Robert Nemes scored a goal in the 75
th minute to get Malone on the board. The score would remain 3-1 until Kurtis Roberts kicked in his second goal of the day with less than a minute to go in the contest. The goal gave Matt Hickingbotham his second assist on the day as well, and it gave Kentucky Wesleyan the 4-1 victory.
Malone will look to bounce back on Wednesday when the squad hosts a 4:00 p.m. home match against Ashland University.
