The Malone University softball team will play non-conference opponent Davis & Elkins College (WV) on Thursday, April 21^th at 3:00 p.m. on Senior Day. The seniors will be honored before the doubleheader.

Game Preview: Malone

-Malone is coming off a 6-4 (nine innings) and 11-6 loss against Ohio Dominican University on Tuesday. In game one, Emily Isla, Abbie Hughes, and Kerri Manley were all impressive at the plate, going 3-for-4, while Isla and Manley added a run scored and Hughes registered a triple and double. Pitcher Kari Hall went the distance and threw her 18^th complete game and recorded seven strikeouts. In game two, Alexa Holztrager registered two runs scored to tie the school record with 107. Taylor Lauer went 2-for-4 at the plate and notched one run scored. Hughes went 2-for-3 at the plate and added one run scored, while Hulin tallied two RBI's.

-Pitcher Kari Hall has tallied three shutouts and has registered 117 total strikeouts. She is fourth in the GLIAC in strikeouts (117).

-Emily Isla leads MU in batting average (.373), slugging percentage (.441), and RBI's (18). She is currently on a nine game hitting streak. Isla broke the school record earlier this season in walks (59) and broke the school record last season in hit by pitch (20).

-Alexa Holztrager leads the team in doubles (six). Holztrager tied the school record in runs scored on Tuesday against Ohio Dominican University with 107.

-As a team, the Pioneers batting average is a .274, while their slugging percentage is a .338.

Game Preview: Davis & Elkins  

-The Senators are coming off a spilt against Cedarville University on Tuesday. They won game one 9-0, but lost game two by the final score of 4-2.

-Earlier this month, the Senators went on an eight game winning streak, but Ohio Valley University (WV) snapped it, beating Davis & Elkins 4-2.

-Freshmen Alyssa Cairns leads the team in batting average (.399) and slugging percentage (.601).

-Junior Danielle Norton leads the Senators in RBI's (45).

-Sophomore pitcher Allie Lapallo has tossed 112 strikeouts in 193.1 innings pitched. In addition, she has compiled a 21-10 record from the circle and has a 1.56 ERA. 

-As a team, the Senators batting average is a .308, while their slugging percentage .426. They also have slammed 20 home runs and tallied 253 RBI's as a team.
