The Malone University baseball fell to 1-4 on the season after suffering a 12-4 loss to NCAA DII #2 St. Cloud St (MN) Monday night in Tucson. The Pioneers will have a chance to bounce back on Tuesday night (March 8th) as they take on this same St. Cloud St. squad in a rematch at 9:30 pm EST, 7:30 pm mountain time under the lights at Kino Stadium.

Recap:The nationally ranked Huskies jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one inning and tacked on another run in the top of the second. Malone tallied its first run in the bottom half on an
Austin Pachan RBI single to make it 5-1. The potent St. Cloud lineup would add runs in each of the next four innings including a three-spot in the top of the sixth. Malone, meanwhile, added a lone run in the bottom of the third, fourth, and fifth innings.

Matt Davis drove home a run in the third, while Pachan added an RBI groundout. In the bottom of the fifth,
Ryan Froman plated the Pioneers' final run in the bottom of the fifth on a bases loaded walk.

Keanan Locke continued his hot streak in the Arizona heat, reaching base three times and swiping three bases.
Brenden Wells scored a pair of runs for Malone.
