The Malone University men's basketball team closed out the 2016 calendar year on Friday at home with a convincing 114-62 victory over visiting Wright State University Lake.  The Pioneers set a new single-game record by draining 20 three-pointers on the night.

Malone shot a blistering 45.5% from long range, handed out an impressive total of 36 assists and out-rebounded the Lakers by a 57-28 margin.  All 11 Pioneers that participated in the contest scored and 10 different Malone players handed out at least two assists.

The Pioneers pulled out to a 13-0 lead after three minutes and were never threatened over the course of the evening.  Wright State Lake, which only had five players available for Friday's contest, pulled to within 19-10 with just under 14 minutes to go before a 21-4 Malone surge put the game out of reach.

-The Pioneers sank a total of 11 three-pointers in the first half and went to the locker room on top 54-22
