No Place Like Home for the Holidays

The Malone University men's basketball team will be playing their last game before Christmas this Friday. In order to get Pioneer fans into the Christmas spirit, Friday night's game will have several Christmas-themed attributes. Holiday music will be played throughout the course of the game and the Pioneer Mascot, J.W. Scout, will be dressed in his best Christmas sweater. There will be free hot chocolate and cookies for all fans in attendance.

The Pioneers are well-rested after a nine day break from competition. After Friday night's game the team will have another large break before facing Wright State Lake on December 30th. Ty Jordan, Nate Sheppard continue to lead the team in scoring. Each of the previously named players is scoring in double figures with Jordan leading the way at 14.9 points per game. Jordan is second in the conference in assists, dishing out 4.4 per game. The Pioneers are 10-6 all-time against Notre Dame College.

Record: 7-2

The Falcons are currently on a four game winning streak. Their only losses on the season have come to West Liberty, the #1 ranked team in the country, and Wheeling Jesuit, the #7 ranked team in the country. The Falcons' most recent victory was a 102-86 victory over Edinboro. Notre Dame has two players averaging 20 points per game or more. Will Vorhees, a 6'8" junior, is averaging 25.3 points per game as well as 11.3 rebounds per game. Kyauta Taylor, a 6'1" junior, is averaging 20.0 points per game and leads the team in steals as well. Ja'Sean Lewis, a 6'8" sophomore controls the paint on the defense side of the floor for the Falcons. Lewis is averaging just over 11 rebounds per game and he has already blocked 25 shots on the season.
