The Malone University men's basketball team will take on rival Walsh University at home on Tuesday evening, before traveling to Gannon University in Erie, PA for a pair of early season tournament games. The Pioneers went 2-0 this past week, defeating College of Faith 101-83 in the home opener before traveling to Kentucky and beating Alice Lloyd 71-67. Mitch Spotleson got hot against Alice Lloyd dropping 24 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Ty Jordan is currently third in the conference in scoring, averaging 19 points per game. Malone will be looking for revenge against cross-town rival, Walsh, who beat the Pioneers 93-68 two weeks ago. In their first meeting, Ty Jordan scored 26 points against the Cavaliers. Last season, the Pioneers split with Ohio Dominican (their opponent on Friday at the Gannon Tournament). The Pioneers fell to the Panthers 91-69 on the road early in the season last year, but took care of business at home with a final score of 64-47.  Depending on the outcome of Friday's match-up against ODU, Malone will play either Lake Erie College or Gannon on Saturday.  The tournament Consolation game will start at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and the Championship game will follow at 7:30 p.m.
