The Malone University women's soccer team tied 2-2 on Saturday in an away match against Alderson Broaddus. The team moves to 5-7-1 in the conference which currently puts them in the sixth seed.

The Battlers got out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to a goal by Kennedy Rankin in the eighth minute of the game. Rankin's goal was her second of the season.

The game would remain 1-0 up through halftime.
Brianna Smith tied the game up 1-1 eight minutes into the second half after receiving the pass from
Christine Najjar. Smith's goal was her seventh on the season, moving her to fourth in the conference in total goals.

Later in the half,
Darby Burch would score her fourth goal of the season to give the Pioneers a 2-1 lead.

With just seven minutes remaining Brittany Minor of Alderson Broaddus would put in one more goal for the Battlers to tie the game back up 2-2 and send the game into overtime.

McKenzie Chappell had two crucial saves during the first overtime to keep Alderson Broaddus off the boards to end the game in a tie.

Malone is currently in the sixth and final playoff spot in the conference. They are two points ahead of Alderson Broaddus in the seventh spot and three points behind Cedarville who is in the fifth spot.

The Pioneers will play their final regular season game on Tuesday, October 25
th home at Pioneer Field. A win on Tuesday will guarantee a playoff spot for the Pioneers.
