Box Score The Malone University women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Cedarville in Saturday's game. Â Malone moves to 6-8-1 on the season and Cedarville moves to 6-7-1.

The first goal for Cedarville came by Lyndsey Smith eight minutes into the game. Â Malone attempted to pass the ball back to the keeper so she could clear it. After Malone's keeper missed the pass, Smith beat her to the ball and had an open net for the goal to give Cedarville a 1-0 lead.

The game would remain tied until five minutes after the second half began. At that time, Creslyn Van Dyck booted the ball over
McKenzie Chappell's head to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 lead and an eventual win.

The Pioneers attempted twenty shots, ten of which were on goal, but could not find a way to score. Cedarville had seven shot attempts, five of which were on goal, and scored on two of those.

At halftime of Saturday's game, the Pioneers honored their three seniors on the team,
Christine Najjar,
Mikayla Neville, and
Brianna Smith. All three players were key in the team's first ever GLIAC playoff appearance last season. Najjar and Smith are both in the top ten scorers all-time at Malone.
