The Malone University volleyball team posted a 1-1 record on Saturday during the second and final day of its Hall of Fame City Challenge.
The Pioneers, now 2-2 overall, dropped their morning match to Edinboro University in four sets by scores of 25-22, 25-16, 23-25, and 25-16. Malone then bounced back in the afternoon, defeating Concord University in straight sets, 25-19, 25-21 and 25-16.
Middle hitter
Elizabeth Maczuzak led the way against Edinboro, posting 11 kills, six digs and four blocks (one solo). Outside hitter
Mallory Adams followed with 10 kills and three blocks. Setter
Cathryn Miller dished out 27 assists and scooped up 10 digs. Libero
Maggie Hamrock also made substantial contributions with 14 digs and three aces.
Against Concord, middle hitter
Haley Kool registered a team-high 12 kills. Adams posted 11 kills, Maczuzak racked up 10 kills and 14 digs while Miller notched 34 assists and two aces.
In recognition of her strong play throughout the weekend, Maczuzak was one of seven athletes named to the Hall of Fame City Challenge All-Tournament Team.

www.malonepioneers.com/hofcitychallengeMalone will travel to Romeoville, Illinois next weekend to compete in four contests at Lewis University's Flyer Festival. On Friday, the Pioneers face Maryville University at 9:00 a.m. and Minnesota State University-Mankato at 5:30 p.m. Then on Saturday, Malone takes on the University of Saint Francis (IL) at 11:00 a.m. and the host Flyers at 3:30 p.m.
