The Malone University women's soccer team lost 3-1 to non-conference opponent Seton Hill University (PA) on Tuesday night.
The Griffins' Randi Selbekk scored the first goal of the contest at the 18:42 marker to give the hosts the 1-0 advantage.
The score would remain 1-0 at the half.
A minute into the second half, Seton Hill's Megan Warman scored off a free kick to increase the hosts' lead to 2-0 with 44-minutes left in regulation.
Two minutes later, the Griffins' leading scorer, Emily LoPresti, shot to the top left of the net to score the third goal of the game, giving the hosts the 3-0 lead.
A minute later, the Pioneers'
Brianna Smith marched down the field and shot to the bottom left of the net to register her sixth goal of the season, making it a 3-1 contest with 41 minutes left in the second half.
Unfortunately, the Pioneers wouldn't net any more goals in the second half, giving the Griffins the 3-1 victory.
The Pioneers will make their trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on Friday, October 2nd to take on GLIAC opponent Northern Michigan University at 4:00 p.m.
