The Malone University women's soccer team won its third-straight game of the season on Sunday night with a 1-0 victory at Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent the University of Findlay.

The two teams battled back and forth in the first half, but neither the Pioneers or the Oilers were able to convert a goal.

It wouldn't be until the 64-minute mark in the second half when Malone's Christine Najjar broke through the defense and shot at the lower right corner to notch her sixth goal of the season, giving the Pioneers the 1-0 advantage with 26 minutes remaining in regulation.  

It was all defense for the Pioneers after that, as the Oilers only attempted three shots at goal during the last 26 minutes of play.

The Pioneers will return home to face Ferris State University (MI) on Friday, September 25^th at 4:00 p.m.

Game Notes:
-Sunday's victory marked Malone's first-ever win over Findlay and the first time since 2009 that the Pioneers have won three consecutive matches
-The 1-0 triumph also gave the program its first back-to-back GLIAC wins since joining the conference in 2012
-Goal Keeper Leah Rauscher collected four saves on the day and now has a total of 32 saves on the season. She also recorded her second straight shutout on the season.
-Christine Najjar has scored at least one goal in the last three games for the Pioneers. She is currently tied for second in the GLIAC with 14 points (six goals and two assists).
