The Malone University women's soccer team won 4-0 in its home contest against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent Lake Erie College on Friday night.
The Pioneers got their first goal at the 10-minute mark.
Christine Najjar collected a corner kick from
Corrin Hayberg and fired a shot to the back of the net to take an early 1-0 lead in the first half.
Five minutes later,
Brianna Smith notched her fourth goal of the season to extend the Pioneers' lead to 2-0 with 30 minutes left in the first half.
The shots kept coming for Najjar as she tallied her fifth goal on the season to increase the lead to 3-0 with 28 minutes left in the second half.
Hayberg drilled a shot to the upper right side of the net to score the Pioneers' final goal of the evening at the 79-minute mark in the second half to secure the 4-0 win.
The Pioneers will travel to face the University of Findlay on Sunday, September 20
th at 3:00 p.m.
