The Malone University women's soccer team lost 6-1 on the road to fellow Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) member Ohio Dominican University on Friday night.
The Panthers bounced on the scoreboard first at the 9:49 marker to make it an early 1-0 lead in the first half.
ODU's Lauren Pratt scored off a saved shot to make it a 2-0 contest with 29 minutes left in the first half.
Forward
Christine Najjar passed the ball to Malone's leading scorer,
Brianna Smith, whose shot hit the top of the bar and bounced into the net to cut the deficit to 2-1 with eight minutes remaining in the first half.
The score would remain 2-1 at the intermission.
The Panthers went on to score four more goals in the second half at the 48:04, 50:21, 83:50 and 85:46 markers to seal the 6-1 win.
The Pioneers will return home to host Northwood University (MI) on Sunday, October 11th. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
