Michigan Tech Tops Malone 2-0 in GLIAC Play

The Malone University women's soccer team lost 2-0 at Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Michigan Tech University on Sunday afternoon.

The score stayed tied at 0-0 until the 42-minute mark when the Huskies' leading scorer, Lexi Herrewig, netted the first goal of the game to take a 1-0 lead into intermission.

The Huskies outshot the Pioneers 15-to-1 in the first half of play.

The final goal of the game came at the 76:37 marker when Michigan Tech's Jacqueline Mielke scored her seventh goal on the season to seal the 2-0 contest.

Goal Keeper Leah Rauscher tallied a season-high 10 saves on the day for the Pioneers. She is currently second in the GLIAC in total saves (74).

The Pioneers will continue conference play on the road as they travel to Columbus, Ohio to face Ohio Dominican University on Friday, October 9th at 4:00 p.m.
