Men’s Soccer Falls Short at Ohio Dominican

The Malone University men's soccer team fell 1-0 on the road to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Ohio Dominican University on Sunday night.

At the 24:38 marker in the first half, the Panther's Shane Facemyer passed the ball to teammate Tyler Ebright who beat out the goalkeeper to notch the first goal of the game, making it an early 1-0 lead for ODU.

Malone had a few shot attempts towards the end of the first half, but couldn't net a goal before halftime, giving the Panthers the 1-0 lead at intermission.

Both teams continued to try to get a shot on the goal in the second half, but they weren't falling through for either team.

With less than two minutes to go, Malone's Sam Tonelli headed the ball towards the net, but it was saved by the goalkeeper, giving ODU the 1-0 win.

The Pioneers finished the second half with the slight 6-to-5 shot advantage over the Panthers.

Goalkeeper Jon Crabbs recorded five saves on the day to push his season total to 88 saves.

Malone will host rival Walsh University at Pioneer Field on Friday, October 30th for a 3:00 p.m. kick-off. Friday is also Senior Day as the team will be honoring the graduating class before the start of the game.
