The Malone University men's soccer team lost 3-1 at home to fellow Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) member Tiffin University on Sunday afternoon.
The Dragons wasted no time as they netted their first goal 15 seconds into the first half to grab the early 1-0 lead.
Tiffin scored their final two goals of the game at the 15:45 and 27:12 marker in the first half. The visitors would hold the 3-0 advantage at intermission.
The Pioneers didn't give up as
Matt Piccioni dished the ball to
Nick Astalos who shot to the right of the goalkeeper to make it a 3-1 contest with four minutes remaining in regulation.
Malone gave great effort until the very end, but they couldn't net another few goals, giving Tiffin the 3-1 victory.
The Pioneers finished the game with a slight 13-to-12 shot advantage over the Dragons.
Malone will travel to Lake Erie College on Friday, October 25
th for a 7:00 p.m. match-up.
