Volleyball Loses 3-0 At Non-Conference Cedarville

The Malone University volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision at non-conference opponent Cedarville University on Monday night by the scores of 16-25, 16-25, 16-25.

With the loss, the Pioneers fell to 5-9 overall, staying at 3-4 in the GLIAC, while the Yellow Jackets improved to 9-6 overall.

For Malone, outside hitter Sarah Brent blasted a team-high eight kills in the contest while middle hitter Elizabeth Maczuzak followed with six more. Setters Jordan Sollars and Brianna Clegg tossed up 14 and nine assists, respectively.

While the Pioneers were not able to muster many blocks on the night, with four block assists recorded, defensive specialist/libero Katie Hasebein contributed 15 digs to the Pioneers' defensive effort.

Malone will next compete in a home GLIAC match on Friday against Northern Michigan University in a 7:00 p.m. contest.
