The Malone University volleyball team lost a GLIAC home contest 3-0 on Friday night to visiting Northern Michigan University by the score of 23-25, 22-25, 15-25. The conference loss snapped a three-match GLIAC winning streak for the Pioneers.
With the loss, Malone fell to 5-10 overall and to 3-5 in the GLIAC while the Wildcats improved to 7-6 overall and to 7-1 in conference play.
For Malone, outside hitter 
Taylor Slauterbeck paced the squad in kills with seven for the match while middle hitter 
Elizabeth Maczuzak was right behind with six.  Middle hitter 
Haley Kool and outside hitter 
Shelbi Meek added four more each.  Setters 
Jordan Sollars and Brian Clegg dished out 11 and nine assists, respectively.
On the defensive side, defensive specialist/libero 
Katie Hasebein fueled the unit with 13 digs while outside hitter 
Anna Hays added eight more.  In blocks, Kool led the way with one solo block and two block assists.
Malone will next compete in another home GLIAC match tomorrow (Saturday) in a 2:00 p.m. contest against Michigan Tech University.
