Box Score
A depleted Malone University women's soccer team (4-9-1, 1-8 GLIAC) played the University of Findlay Oilers (7-6-2, 3-4-2) tight on Friday but didn't have enough offensive firepower to record a road win, losing 2-0.
Goals from Eryn Weber in the 10th minute and Danielle Hart in the 74th minute were the difference for the Oilers as they took a step closer to reaching a playoff spot.
The Pioneers struggled to generate many attempts on goal, particularly in the first half when they recorded just a single shot. Freshman
Christine Najjar tried to rally the Pioneers in the second half, taking three shots with two forcing saves from the Findlay goalkeeper. Sophomore
Staci Hackett kept the match close recording 10 saves in the loss.
Findlay outshot Malone 21-5 for the match and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks. Senior
Ally Smith and sophomore
Leah Arnold were the other Pioneers to record a shot and shot on goal in the game.
Malone will try to rebound on Sunday when they play at Tiffin University at 2:30 pm. Live statistics will be provided during the contest at
