Shorthanded Pioneers Lose to Ohio Dominican 3-0

Box Score

An undermanned Malone University women's soccer team (3-7-1, 1-6 GLIAC) surrendered three first-half goals to Ohio Dominican University (7-4-2, 4-3-1 GLIAC) on Sunday, which held up as the only goals of the game as the Pioneers fell 3-0.

Jordan Mazzi, Lauren Pratt and Madison Baldwin scored for the Panthers to give their side the commanding halftime cushion. To their credit, the Pioneer defense stiffened in the second half to keep Ohio Dominican off the score sheet.

The Panthers held a 23-11 advantage in shots, 13-7 edge in shots on goal and a 8-0 advantage in corner kicks. Sophomore Staci Hackett posted 10 saves for Malone in the loss while freshman Christine Najjar and sophomore Natalie Rostedt led the Pioneers with two shots each.

Malone's next contest will be Wednesday, October 16, when it hosts Meryhurst (PA) University at 3:30 pm in a non-conference match.  Live stats will be available during the contest at http://www.sidearmstats.com/malone/wsoc/
