Box Score

The Malone University men's basketball team cruised to a 94-52 non-conference home win over Penn State University-Greater Allegheny on Wednesday night in Malone's Osborne Hall. With the win, Malone improved to 11-7 overall, remaining at 8-6 in the GLIAC South, while PSU-Greater Allegheny dropped to 7-14 overall.

With everyone on the Malone squad, except Che Richardson (who was injured), getting quality minutes, the points column on the Pioneer box score was a well-balanced one – with four players hitting twin figures and three athletes pocketing career highs.

Forward Zach Wasson scored a career-high 15 points (6-9 FG) and also grabbed a team-best seven rebounds to pace Malone in both categories while point guard Isiah Elliott, who scored 14 points in the contest, edged ever closer to the 1,000-career-points plateau at Malone (he is currently at 996 points).

Guard Christian Graves tossed in 12 points and yanked down five rebounds while guard Kyle Lodermeier also reached double digits with a career-high 11 points.  Lodermeier also dished out a team-high six assists. Guard Stephen O'Daniel III also tallied a career-high with nine points while Josh Miller added eight points to the Pioneer cause.

The Nittany Lions were led by Chris Dixon who racked up 23 points while David Caparosa followed with 11 points.  Dixon also paced the squad in rebounds with seven.

The Pioneers ripped the nets for a 56.3% field goal percentage on 36-of-64 shooting while PSU sank 21 of 68 attempts for 30.9%.  Each team drilled seven three-pointers on the night although the visitors had the slightly better percentage with 43.8% (7-16) to Malone's 35.0% (7-20).  At the free throw line, the Pioneers converted 15 of 20 for 75.0% as their opponent netted just three of seven attempts for 42.9%. In addition, Malone held a 43-37 advantage on the boards.

Malone will be back in action on Saturday in a home contest against local rival Walsh University (12-5, 8-5 GLIAC South) in a 1:00 p.m. contest.  Live stats and live video will be available for this game.
