In the first half, Malone methodically used solid defense and an explosive offense to pull away from its opponent to pocket a 45-13 advantage at halftime.  Then, the Pioneers continued their stellar play in the final 20 minutes, outscoring the Cougars 56-21 in the second half, to post the 57-point, 101-44 victory.

Four Malone student-athletes reached double digits in scoring as forward Vince Kazmierczak and guard Christian Graves led the way with 15 points each.  Kazmierczak hit six of nine field goal attempts , including three-of-six three-point attempts, and also pulled down a team-best (tied) seven rebounds while Graves was five-of-eight from the field, all from three-point range.

Forward Cory Veldhuizen followed with 12 points (4-5 FG, 4-6 FT) while grabbing six rebounds and point guard Isiah Elliott chipped in with 10 points, five rebounds and a team-high five assists.  Center Daniel Wise pulled down a team-best (tied) seven rebounds.

UC-Clermont was paced by Charles Doss who tossed in 12 points followed by Wayne Evans with 11 and Kendall Beamon with 10.  Doss and Curtis Johnson yanked down a team-best seven rebounds each for the Cougars.

Malone shot 55.6% from the floor (40-72) for the night while the Cougars sank just 29.2% of their attempts from the field (19-65).  The Pioneers drilled 11 of 28 attempts (39.3%) from three-point land while UC-Clermont hit one of 10 (10.0%).  At the free throw line, Malone converted 10 of 18 for 55.6% while the Cougars netted five of eight for 62.5%.  In addition, the Pioneers held a 49-35 advantage on the boards.

Malone will be back in action next Thursday night (Nov. 15th) when the team hosts Notre Dame College (OH) (1-0) in a 7:30 p.m. contest.   Live stats will be available for this game.
