Ally Smith pocketed a penalty kick goal in the 79th minute of the Malone University women's soccer team's match at Walsh University on Saturday night, but it was not enough as the Cavaliers prevailed 3-1.
Carley Adams got Walsh (7-4-2, 3-4-2 GLIAC) on the board first, beating Pioneer keeper
Angie Nutial in the 29th minute for her third goal of the year. Erin Peskura would score a pair of goals in the 39th and 72nd minutes to put Walsh ahead 3-0 before Smith's goal got Malone (1-10-1, 0-8-1 GLIAC) on the scoreboard.

Amanda Hanlon was a thorn in the Walsh defense's side, recording eight shots, five of which found their way on net. Senior
Jasmine Evans and Smith recorded four shots apiece as well. Malone was outshot 20-18 but led in shots on goal by a 10-8 count. Nutial made five saves in the loss.
