The Malone University men's soccer team fell on the road to Notre Dame College Tuesday evening by a final score of 4-1. The Falcons held a 2-0 edge at halftime and then added on to their lead with a goal 12 minutes into the second stanza. Forward
Adam Sharpnack got the Pioneers on the scoreboard in the 69th minute of play but Notre Dame midfielder Tom Owens answered back just 60 seconds later, cementing the 4-1 win with his second goal of the match. Malone's overall record slipped to 7-6 with Tuesday's loss while the Falcons remained undefeated, improving to 12-0 overall.
NDC Defender Dan Knight got the scoring started 14 minutes into the match with an unassisted goal. Owens then converted on a penalty kick at the 17-minute mark to make the score 2-0.
Forward Dean Miller then struck with the Falcons' third goal in the 57th minute as he scored on a header off a long cross from forward Martin Lange.

Treg Lunger deflected off the crossbar, Sharpnack knocked in the rebound for his second goal of the season.
Owens then wrapped up the scoring by firing a shot into the net from about 20 yards out.
The Falcons, winners of 29 straight regular-season matches, held a 21-5 advantage in total shots and an 8-4 edge in shots on goal.

Felipe Monteiro registered four saves while Falcon netminder Alex Klein stopped three of the four shots he faced.
Malone will be back in action on Thursday with a 7:30 p.m. contest at NCAA Division II Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University (7-4-1 overall). The Pioneers and Cardinals were originally slated to play on October 1st, but the match was postponed due to poor field conditions.
