The Malone University women's soccer team opened American Mideast Conference play on Tuesday evening with a hard-fought 1-0 loss on the road to Cedarville University. The match's lone goal came in the 37th minute of play as Yellow Jacket forward Kelly Wise scored off a pass from midfielder Amanda Bunton. This 1-0 advantage then held over the remainder of the contest as the Cedarville defense clamped down to preserve the shutout victory. The Pioneers' record dropped to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the AMC with the loss while the Yellow Jackets improved to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

The Pioneers will look to bounce back on Saturday as they continue AMC play with a 1:00 p.m. match at home against Roberts Wesleyan (NY) College (5-2-0, 1-0-0 AMC).
