The Malone University men's soccer team fell at home on Saturday afternoon to the College of Wooster by a final score of 1-0. The lone goal of the match came with just under five minutes to play in the first half as Fighting Scot forward Luke Koniarczyk knocked in a deflected corner kick that he had gained control of just in front of the net. This score in the 41st minute held up the rest of the way as Wooster went on to record the shutout victory. The Fighting Scots improved to 4-0-0 with win while the Pioneers dropped to 1-3-0.

Malone trailed by a slim 9-7 margin in total shots on goal over the course of the match. Pioneer keeper Felipe Monteiro tallied eight saves on the afternoon while Wooster keeper Taylor Takacs stopped all seven shots he faced to record his first shutout of the season.

The Pioneers will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they host Ohio Christian University at 5:00 p.m.
