The Malone University men's soccer team fell on the road to NAIA No. 3 Notre Dame (OH) College on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 7-1. The Falcons took control of the American Mideast Conference match early on with three first-half goals and then scored twice more in the first eight minutes of the second stanza to stretch their advantage to 5-0. Kelvin Aquino got the Pioneers on the scoreboard with his team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 74th minute. However, Notre Dame then netted two more late scores to account for the 7-1 final. The Pioneers' record fell to 4-9-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the AMC with the loss while the Falcons remained undefeated, improving to 12-0-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the conference.
Notre Dame held a 15-5 advantage in total shots on goal over the course of the afternoon.
Malone will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they host a 4:00 p.m. AMC match against Daemen (NY) College.
