Taylor, a senior from East Canton, Ohio (East Canton H.S.), became the first NCAA Indoor Track & Field All-American in both Malone and Great Midwest Athletic Conference history on Thursday by placing eighth in the weight throw competition at the Division II National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.

His impressive mark of 18.84 meters (61’ 9.75”) fell less than a foot shy of his Malone and G-MAC record in the event (62’ 7.75”).

An Outdoor Track & Field All-American in the discus last May, Taylor joins former Malone distance runner Ryan Roush as the only two-time NCAA Division II All-Americans in Pioneer history.
