McCue, a senior forward from Rocky River, Ohio, helped the Pioneers to a 2-0 record last week, posting back-to-back double-doubles in wins over Slippery Rock and Bluefield State. She averaged 17.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals over the two games while shooting 44.4% (12-for-27) from the floor and 62.5% (five-for-eight) from three-point range.
The six-footer scored a game-high 23 points, including 17 in the second half and 12 in the fourth quarter, to help Malone overcome an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit and defeat Slippery Rock 71-69. She followed that up with a 12-point, 11-rebound performance in just 19 minutes of Malone’s 83-46 win over Bluefield State.
McCue, who transferred to Malone after three seasons at NCAA DI Miami (OH), has three double-doubles in her first five games. She currently ranks 5th in the G-MAC in scoring (14.8 ppg) and 2nd in rebounding (10.2 rpg).
