Emily Calvani enters her second season as the Malone Women's Soccer Graduate Assistant Coach in 2021.
Calvani helped guide the Pioneers through the tumultuous 2020-21 year which saw the COVID-19 pandemic force the Pioneers to play an abbreviated championship season in the spring. Malone went 5-6-2 on the year, and advanced to the semifinal round of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament.
She played soccer collegiately at Taylor University and Xavier University. She graduated from Taylor in the spring of 2019 with a degree in Psychology, a minor in Spanish, and a very impressive 3.96 GPA. While at Taylor, Calvani was also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and the Society for Human Resources (SHRM).
While at Xavier, Calvani was named to the Big East All-Academic team in the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Calvani served as the Marketing Coordinator for Xavier's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and participated in the Athletes in Action program. Matthew Ministries, Free Store Food Bank, coordinator of letters and classroom visits to youth of the Academy of World Languages, fundraising for Xavier Athletics, and TOP Soccer/Special Olympics are just some volunteer opportunities Calvani took part in over the course of her college career.
