Shavon Robinson joined the Pioneers' coaching staff in the summer of 2021.

Prior to coming back home to Canton, Robinson worked for two years as an assistant at Shawnee State University. In Robinson's first year helping the Bears, they had an overall record of 16-1. The Bears won the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship for the 2019-2020 season while Robinson assisted with the teams' player development, recruiting coordinator, and defensive strategies. In year two of her coaching career for the Bears, Robinson helped Shawnee State reach a 19-9 record and a second round appearance in the 2020-2021 NAIA National Tournament.

Robinson, a transfer from NCAA Division I Ohio University, helped lead the Bears to their first-ever Mid-South Conference Championship by averaging 12.5 points and 5.3 rebounds on 47.4 percent shooting from the field for Shawnee State. Prior to her time at Shawnee State, Robinson starred at Ohio University, making the All-Mid American Conference Freshman team. She finished second on the team in scoring as a freshman,  sophomore, and a junior, averaging 8.6 points per game as a freshman and 10.4 points per game as a sophomore and junior. 

In high school, Robinson won All-Stark County Player of the Year honors at Canton South High School. Robinson finished her career as a two-time OHSAA Division II All-Ohio First-Team recipient, 2010 McDonald's All-American Nominee, and a two-time Division II District Champion with the Wildcats, which led to her induction into the Canton South Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017. Â
