Sophomore Season (Cleveland State University): Played in four games as an infielder, and made two plate appearances...Scored one run against Prairie View A&M University.

Freshman Season (Cleveland State University): Appeared in seven contests as an infielder…Recorded her first collegiate hit against the University of Illinois-Chicago…Scored one run.

High School: Kern attended Springfield High School in Akron, Ohio where she was named both First and Second Team All-Conference during her career. She was also the USSSA Offensive Player of the Year and Second Team All-Northeast Ohio. 

Personal: Majoring in Exercise Science (Physical Therapy).
