McGonigle is from Thornton, Colorado and Legacy High School and is a transfer student from Front Range Community College with four years of athletic eligibility. She was All-Conference Honorable Mention in the Front Range League as well as Academic All-State First Team. McGonigle helped lead Legacy in the conference standings for two runner-up finishes.
