2017: Friend returned from injury in her freshman season to play in 18 games for the Pioneers, making 15 starts in the outfield…Hit .371 (13-for-35) with a .436 on-base percentage…Totaled six runs and four runs batted in…Recorded five multi-hit games during nine spring break contests…Went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs, and two RBI in her collegiate debut against Alderson Broaddus (3/6/17)…Was a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI in a win over PSU Schuylkill (3/7/17)

2016: Did not play (redshirt)

Prior to Malone: Friend, a 5'11" third baseman from Pickerington, Ohio (Madison Christian School), was a four-time letter-winner in softball.  She was an All Mid-Ohio Christian Athletic League (MOCAL) selection three times, earning the First Team distinction twice and Second Team honors once.  Friend was also a two-time All-Central District Honorable Mention selection and a Second Team All-Central District honoree. In addition, she was a four-time letter-winner in basketball, twice earning All-MOCAL Honorable Mention accolades. As a senior, she earned MOCAL First Team and Most Outstanding Player honors as well as Second Team All-District recognition.  Friend plans on pursuing a degree in Math and Computer Science at Malone.  
UPDATE: With the recent update of the Ohio High School Athletic Association's state softball records, Friend now holds the all-time state record for season batting average at an incredible .854, against D1-D4 pitching, which she recently achieved as a senior. In addition, she had 11 walks and only one strike out on the season.
