Prior to Malone: Byers was named First Team All-Ohio during her junior and senior seasons at West Branch and Second Team All-Ohio as a sophomore. During a phenomenal senior season with the Warriors, she hit over .600 and clubbed 21 homeruns, the second-most in OHSAA single season history. In addition to being named All-Ohio three times, she was named All-District and All-Northeastern Buckeye Conference all four years of high school.
