2019: Gruen played in 15 games during her junior season, including three starts as a pitcher and three at DP…In nine pitching appearances, posted a 1-2 record with a 4.38 ERA and seven strikeouts in 32 innings pitched…Tossed two complete games, including a seven-inning victory over Salem (4/2/19)…Held regionally-ranked Ohio Dominican scoreless over a career-long 7.2 innings before losing on a walk-off homerun with two outs in the eighth (4/22/19)…At the plate, collected four hits on the season, including two at the G-MAC Championship, and two runs scored

2018: Played in 16 games as a sophomore…Made 12 pitching appearances, including seven starts, and two starts as a designated player…Posted a 2-2 record with a 3.56 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 37.1 innings pitched…Threw four scoreless innings to earn the decision in Malone’s season-opening win over Ohio Valley (3/4/18)…Recorded a season-high four strikeouts and allowed just three hits in a five-inning complete game shutout of Point Park (4/30/18)

2017: Gruen pitched in 31 games during her freshman season, making 16 starts…Also started 20 games at DP for the Pioneers…Recorded an 8-13 record in the circle…Registered 42 strikeouts over 124.2 innings pitched and led Malone with a 3.37 ERA…Earned her first collegiate victory vs. William Woods and her first career save vs. Waldorf on the same day (3/8/17)…Tallied six complete games, including a pair of shutouts…Allowed just six hits in a shutout of Ursuline (4/5/17)…Notched a season-high six strikeouts in a shutout of Ohio Valley (4/15/17)…Posted a 2.20 ERA over her final eight starts of the season…At the plate, Gruen hit .296 (21-71) with five doubles and 10 RBI…Tallied six multi-hit games…Notched a season-high three hits against Ohio Valley (3/6/17)…Tied season-highs with three hits, including a double, and two RBI while also earning the pitching victory against Davis & Elkins (4/9/17)

Prior to Malone: Gruen was a four-time letter-winner in softball, a three-time letter-winner in volleyball, and a one-time letter-winner in swimming & diving. During her career, she was named First Team All-Ohio Capital Conference, Honorable Mention All-District, and Special Mention All-Metro. In 2014-15, she was named Co-Offensive Player of the Year, while posting a .485 batting averaging and leading the team in homeruns and RBI. In the classroom, she was an Honor Roll student and participated in the Fellowship for Christian Athletes.
