Kyle Schumann begins his first year on the Pioneer men’s soccer coaching staff in 2017.
Schumann was a four-year letterwinner as a goalkeeper for Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. During his playing career, the Crimson Storm made four consecutive appearances at the NAIA National Tournament, advancing to the NAIA National Semifinals in 2005. Schumann was named an NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete in 2007 and graduated from SNU in 2009 with a degree in Finance.
The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native went on to play in the professional ranks, competing as a goalkeeper for the National Premier Soccer League’s (NPSL) Tulsa Athletics in 2013.
A certified United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and collegiate referee, Schumann holds a National Goalkeeper license from the United Soccer Coaches in addition to the National C and Youth licenses from the USSF.
Schumann previously served as lead staff coach, goalkeeper coach and academy director for Highlander Soccer Club in Bixby, Oklahoma. His extensive coaching resume also includes experience as a goalkeeper coach and assistant coach at Oklahoma’s Moore High School and Putnam City West High School.
