Bill Lawrence begins his first season on the Pioneer men’s soccer coaching staff in 2011. He has 22 years of prior coaching experience to his credit, having worked with athletes ages U10-U23 in the United States, Uruguay and England. Lawrence has coached state champions in North Carolina and Ohio and has worked as a coach educator with Ambassadors in Sport the last five years, leading training courses in four different countries. In addition, he currently serves as the head coach and director of Ambassadors FC, a Christian soccer club based in Twinsburg, Ohio.
Lawrence earned his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and History from the University of Connecticut in May of 1990 and then went on to receive his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in December of 1993.
While at Connecticut, he served as a captain on the men’s soccer team and received All-Big East recognition as a senior. Lawrence earned his UEFA (European Union Football Association) B Coaching License from the British Football Association in August of 2007.
He married his wife, Heather, in January of 1992. The couple resides in Twinsburg with their two sons, Stephen who is 17 and Ian who is 16.
