Jeremy Duerr returns for his second season on the men's basketball coaching staff in 2011-12.  After an outstanding two seasons on the Pioneer men's basketball team (08-09, 09-10), Duerr will continue to work with Malone’s varsity and junior varsity squads.

Duerr, of Uniontown and a graduate of Lake High School, transferred to Malone from Ashland University in 2008 and made an immediate impact at the point guard position, starting in 54 of his 58 games played at Malone. He led the team in assists in both of his two seasons as a Pioneer, tallying 154 career assists. He also amassed 437 career points (7.5 avg.).

“Jeremy did a great job leading our team as a point guard his senior season,” commented coach Walker. “He bought in to what we were trying to build and he was the catalyst for our second semester turnaround in 09-10. He has been a great addition to our coaching staff and he has earned the respect of our players and staff.”

Jeremy is currently in his second year of working at the McKinley High School guidance office through an Americorp program. He is also working on his master’s degree at Malone in School Counseling.
