Brian DeLap is back for his sixth year as an assistant on the Malone men’s basketball coaching staff in 2017-18. 
 
A graduate of Canton McKinley High School, DeLap was a part of the Bulldogs’ 1987 boys basketball squad that finished as Runner-Up in the OHSAA State Tournament.  He then continued his playing career at John Carroll University where he was a three-year letterman at the point guard position.  DeLap graduated from JCU with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a minor in Education.
 
DeLap would later move on to North Carolina State University where he earned a master’s degree in Math Education while serving as a graduate assistant and video coordinator for the Wolfpack basketball team.
 
DeLap brings a wealth of coaching experience to his position on the Pioneer staff, having previously served as the head boys basketball coach at East Lincoln High School in North Carolina.  In addition, he also spent 13 seasons coaching in the Lake Local School District.
 
Currently, Brian works as a math teacher at Lake High School.  He and his wife, Andi, have three children:  Katherine, Maggie, and Drew.
