2020: Did not play (Redshirt - Coronavirus)... Named G-MAC All-Academic Team

2019: Kovach pitched in two games before suffering a season-ending injury…Tossed 3.0 scoreless innings, striking out three batters... Named G-MAC All-Academic Team

2018: Pitched in 14 games during his sophomore season, making six starts and eight relief appearances...Tallied 26 strikeouts in 30.0 innings pitched and posted a 2-4 record…Matched a season-high with four strikeouts over three scoreless innings in a combined shutout win over Wheeling Jesuit (4/26/18)

2017: Kovach appeared in 12 games for the Pioneers, making six starts during his freshman season…Posted a 2-0 record with two saves and a 3.77 ERA in 31.0 innings pitched…Made first career appearance against Grand View (3/3/17) and did not allow an earned run over the first 15 innings of his career…Registered back-to-back saves on the same day against Northern St. and Concordia (NE) (3/8/17)…Recorded 20 strikeouts on the year, including a season-high five Ks in a victory over Kentucky Wesleyan (4/9/17)…Limited opponents to a .238 batting average and surrendered just four extra-base hits…Named to the G-MAC All-Freshman Team

Prior to Malone: Kovach was named the Sandusky Bay Conference Player of the Year after going 7-1 with an 0.52 ERA and  80 strikeouts across 54 innings during his senior season at Huron High School. He was selected First Team All-District and 2nd Team All-Ohio. A three-sport athlete, Kovach was also an All-SBC performer in both football and basketball.
