Scott McIlvain, a 2009 Malone graduate, joins the Pioneer baseball staff this spring as the hitting and infield coach. McIlvain concluded an outstanding four-year career for Malone in 2009 by earning the American Mideast Conference Player of the Year award in addition to garnering NCCAA National Player of the Year accolades.
A four-year starter at shortstop, McIlvain helped the Pioneers capture an NCCAA National Title in 2006. During his time in a Malone uniform, he established three new all-time records with final career totals of 269 hits, 180 runs scored and 79 stolen bases.
Scott resides in Alliance with his wife, Brianna, and their daughter, Paige.
