Malone alum Chad King returns for his eighth season on Pioneer baseball coaching staff in 2021.
King was a four-year starter for long-time Pioneer head coach Bob Starcher. During King’s playing career from 1990-93, the Pioneers won 96 games and compiled an impressive .596 winning percentage. In addition, King was a starter for the 1993 squad which still holds the single-season school record for winning percentage, having finished the year with a mark of 36-9-1 (.793).
After graduation, King was drafted by the Zanesville Greys of the Frontier League.
King, who has over 10 years of youth baseball coaching experience in the Babe Ruth, Nations Baseball and Stark Summit Leagues, helped guide the Louisville Leopards to a Nations Baseball Ohio State Championship in 2011.
King also assisted in organizing a local travel team known as the Canton Spikes (15U) of the Stark Summit League.
He, his wife, Darleen, and sons, Cameron and Connor, currently reside in Louisville.
