2025 marks Carey’s eighth season as the Pioneers’ assistant pitching coach. 

During his playing career at Malone, Carey made 26 appearances covering 32.1 innings. He posted a 2-3 record with two saves, a 3.61 ERA, and 17 strikeouts.

A Key member of the 2014 Malone pitching staff as a redshirt-freshman, Carey made 15 appearances totaling 21 innings sporting a 2.11 ERA without giving up an extra base hit.  Carey’s signature outing came against the Division I nationally ranked, Kent State Golden Flashes where he rolled 3 scoreless innings, surrendering only a bloop single while striking out 3.  During the summer of 2015, Coach Carey took his talents to the South Florida Collegiate League logging 25 innings with a 3.55 ERA, while facing some of the best hitters in all of college baseball.

Coach Carey’s playing career at Malone ended due to a shoulder injury.  Branden graduated from Malone in 2018 with a degree in Business Administration and Sport Management and received his MBA in 2021.  He currently resides in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
