Biography

2019: Widmer appeared in four games, including one start…Posted a 1-1 record with two strikeouts in 3.1 innings pitched…Earned the win after tossing two scoreless innings in 17-inning victory over Assumption (3/4/19)

2018: Pitched in seven games as a freshman, including two starts and five relief appearances…Registered a 1-0 record with eight strikeouts in 11.2 innings pitched…Made collegiate debut in a start against Illinois Springfield (2/24/18)…Allowed no runs and matched a season-high with three strikeouts over a season-high five innings against Tiffin (4/25/18) to earn first collegiate win

Prior to Malone: Widmer was selected by the Chicago White Sox organization in the 36th round of the 2017 MLB Draft following a standout prep career at Norwayne High School. Over his junior and senior seasons, he posted an 11-5 record with a 1.70 ERA and 131 strikeouts in 103 innings pitched. Widmer was named First Team All-Wayne County Athletic League and Second Team All-Northeast Ohio District.
