Senior Season (2020-21): Named a WGCA All-American Scholar... Named to the Great Midwest Academic All-Conference Team... Named to the
G-MAC All-Conference Team... Williams played 270 holes and 15 rounds in season that saw her miss 2 tournaments in the fall due to appendectomy. Defended Cumberland Trail Classic title in fall. Led team with 24 birdies and was second in pars with 170. Fairway average for 18 was 11 while GIR average was school record 11.33. Currently holds nearly every season and career record for Malone Women's Golf. Season ending career best average of 76.13.
Junior Season (2019-20): Named a WGCA All-American Scholar... Named
CoSIDA Academic All-District... Named to the Great Midwest Academic All-Conference Team... Williams played in 10 rounds for the Pioneers in the fall of 2019. Christina led the team with 23 birdies and 107 pars. She averaged 9 fairways per round and nearly 12 greens in regulation. Christina averaged just over 31 putts per round and had a career-best 75.9 season average. She placed 6th of 99 golfers at the Evann Parker Memorial. Christina was 2nd overall in the G-MAC Fall Preview at The Pearl Club leading the Lady Pios to an impressive 3rd place finish as a team. Christina broke her own school record shooting a blistering 68 where she was medalist of 92 golfers at the CTC in Pastakala, Ohio. At the Cumberland Trail Classic, she led the Pioneers to new 18 and 36 hole school records of 304 and 615. Christina was also medalist at the annual Phipps Memorial at Glenmoor Country Club shooting a 74. Spring 2020 was canceled due to coronavirus.
Sophomore Season Season (2018-19): Named a WGCA All-American Scholar...
Named to the Great Midwest Academic All-Conference Team...
Named to the Great Midwest All-Conference Team... Christina Williams produced an all-time program best 77.54 scoring average as a sophomore in 2018-19. Playing a record 24 rounds (432 holes), Christina led the Lady Pios in birdies (40), pars (245), average fairways (10), GIR (9.2) and putting average (31.6). She was selected G-MAC First Team All-Conference for the 2nd consecutive year following a t-2nd place finish at the G-MAC Championship. Williams also became Malone’s first-ever Super-Regional qualifier in the Division 2 NCAA era, where she place t-17th in a loaded field. Williams set the Malone school record and achieved the first under-par round in school history with a 71 at the Cumberland Trail Classic (9/23/18). She led the Pioneers to an 18-hole team scoring record (321) at the Music City Invitational (10/22/18).
Freshman Season (2017-18): Named a WGCA All-American Scholar... Named to the Great Midwest All-Conference Team...
Finished with an exceptional 125 pars and team leading 27 birdies…hit 120 GIR’s and her putting average of 32 ranked 1
st among her teammates…team leading 81 average in 15 rounds of play…posted an outstanding 7 Top 10 performances and an incredible 4 Top 5 finishes in 9 tournaments…part of record setting team at Cumberland Trail Golf Classic that shot 322/644 for 18 and 36 holes where she shot back to back 75’s, one shot off Malone’s All-Time school record.
Biography: Christina is the daughter of Alice and Brian Williams of Medina, Ohio. Christina graduated from Medina Highland High School in 2017 where she earned 1st team All-Ohio honors as a golfer playing for head coach Mary Becker. Christina shot an outstanding 73 at the Division 1 State Tournament in 2016 and helped her team to a runner-up finish! Christina’s best club is her pitching wedge and she is working on improving her approach shot direction. She enjoys swimming, basketball and hanging out with her friends in her spare time. Christina loves Swenson’s and Wasabi. Jordan Spieth is her favorite professional golfer. Her favorite saying is, “Don’t expect to see a change if you don’t make one.” Christina’s favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
